    I am new to LR I have a portrait of my grandson being a bit bright on 1 side.
    I have tried unsuccessfully to adjust, tried burning, any suggestions welcomed or good programs I mainly do portrait

    I think I may have it in both if not it's in JPEG
    I have Lightroom 4 & elements 12

    No problem. You'll get the best results from the raw file, when it's available.
