In all my apps and Lightroom CC until recently, there are those symbols in the upper right right corner that allow the user to minimize, restore down, or close the application. For some reason, unknown to me, those three little symbols have disappeared from my Lightroom application, whereas they continue to be present in all my other apps, including Photoshop CC. I am at a loss as to how to restore them and would like to know how to do this. Any insight that anyone can provide will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

P.S. How do I edit the title of my posting?

Those are MS Windows controls and are a function of the OS. Likely you have put LR in Full Screen mode Cycling through the screen modes with the shortcut key "F" should bring you back to a windowed state.

As for editing the title. click on the "Thread Tools dropdown and see if there is an "Edit Thread" option.

Hit <shift>F as many times as it takes to get the symbols back.

I was able to cycle through the "F" process, but it seems that the <Shift> is necessary as well.

I am definitely missing something as I cannot find the "Thread Tools" drop down.

Just above the first message in the thread, I have a menu. "Thread Tools" is one of the menu items. It may be unique to those of us with Guru rights because some of the sub menu items are definitely available only to Gurus. I know in the old forum software it was possible for the thread originator to edit the title and even delete the thread. It would be reasonable in this forum softeware to permit the thread originator to edit their own thread.
In any event, I edited your title

I suspect is only available to the "Gurus" as this is how the top of my thread looks:

It's on the right side of the screen, so outside your screendump. Your screendump also indicates that you were not logged in (hence the welcome message), that could be another reason. One menu is 'Watch Thread', which I think should be available to everyone. But I do expect that you don't have the 'Thread Tools' menu at all.

I didn't realize I wasn't logged in as I thought I had ticked off the "keep me logged in" box or its equivalent. Anyway, once I was logged in properly (like now), I did find the "Thread Tools" drop down, so I do have access to it, but how is the casual user supposed to know about these things - don't know. Regardless, problem is now totally resolved. My thanks to all for their help.

You're always very welcome to ask - moderators can change them too, if you tell us what you want it to say.

Yes, but there is always the aspect of "You don't know what you don't know."

Thank you. If I didn't feel that I wasn't welcome to ask, I wouldn't be here - plain and simple.

You also don't know what is possible until you push a few buttons. I'd guess I've clicked on every butt or link on this forum software and every other similar web enabled app just to see "what is behind door number 3"...

It's not only the way to learn how to use this forum, it's also the way to learn how to use Lightroom (and any other application on your computer)... We were all beginners one day, and many of us never followed a course or read a book about Lightroom. We just found out by trial and error.
