LR5 Beta - Radial Filter

What do you think about the new radial filter? I was really excited about being able to create off-center vignettes and having some control of the shape, but I am not getting good results. With the feather slider at 100 it's still much too abrupt. I want a smooth exposure gradient like what you can achieve with the post-crop vignette, manual lens vignette, or linear gradient tool. Has anyone found it useful in it's Beta form?

I just found in this discussion that they will increase the radial filter feathering in the final version. I think it will be a very useful tool.

Other users suggested zooming way out when positionng the filter oval, I'll have to try that.
