    Copy metadata between fields

Thanks, this plugin would do it. Would, because uncommited location data is seen as empty fields. And according to Victoria's book, there is no batch action for confirming. You have to go through every photo and every location field. Not very comfortable.

    Copy metadata between fields

Hi, I would like to copy metadata between fields in the same photo. Especially, the info about region, city, state etc. into the description/subtitle, sepatated by commas. Great would be a batch action for multiple pictures. Do you know about any plugins for this? Thanks, Thomas

Best SSD setup for LR and PS?

The system is up and running and I'm happy with the response time, e.g. start of PS. I don't have any hard figures. If you have suggestions for that, I can run any kind of benchmark.

    PS-FAQ from Photoshop-King? :-)

Hi, I really like Victoria's missing FAQ for Lightroom, thank you. Is something similar available for Photoshop? I'm interested in task-orientated books, websites, videos. I don't use PS often, so I forget things quickly :-) Thanks. Thomas

    Best practises for locations

I think with windows you can use junctions or symbolic links to separate the catalog from the previews. Never tested it myself.

Best SSD setup for LR and PS?

Hi, I want to install one or more SSD into my LR/PS-Desktop to improve performance. The machine is a 2,4-GHz Qadcore with 8 GB RAM, Win7-64 and a 5''GB-HDD. As far as I learned from other posts here and from the web, I have to think about the location of the following file types: 1. OS 2. LR...

suggestion for powerful lightweight laptop with wide gamut?

Hi, my best friend, a 6-year-old Fujitsu-Siemens Lifebook (1'" display, Centrino, 1GB, 1.2kg) likes to retire in the near future. PS and LR run on it, but quite slow. The display isn't bad, but not best quality for photos. So - I'm searching a new laptop. I really like small, lightweight...

LR3 and tethered shooting - do I need drivers?

Hello, I have a clean installed pc with Win7 x64 pro on it. LR works fine. Now I want to test tethered shooting with my Canon 4'D. Do I need to install any Canon-software first, maybe some drivers? If possible, I want to avoid the Canon utility software.

    LR3: save custom picture package?

Hi, I shooted a wedding a few days ago and now I'm thinking of making a photobook kind of prints for the lucky couple. As far as I know LR3 has the custom package feature, so I can arrange different pictures on one page. So far so good - but how do I save my work? Do I have to save the layout...

    [solved] White Balance in thumbnails

If you don't have a proper camara calibration profile in LR, you can make your own with the "color checker passport" from x-rite. It's a great package including a robust color plate and a software which automatically analyses the picture of the color plate and creates calibration profiles for...

    LR2.6 and PS CS3 on Windows 7 64bit - any tipps?

Hi Brad, thanks for the infos. Yes, I will stick a post-it on the computer to remind me on the de-register-thing for PS before formatting the harddisk :-) I found a good article from Adobe: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/4'1/kb4'1'88.html Under the paragraph "Allocating memory above 2 GB with...

Hello, I will upgrade my pc with more ram (8GB) and Windows 7 prof. 64 bit. Are there any traps concerning the installation of LR and PS CS3? Benefit of Quadcore over Dualcore?

Thank you all for your replies. To clarify: The PC in my signature is my home pc, wich is a universal machine for LR, audio work, office etc. Because I have a dedicated studio now (several km away from home) I need a second pc. After thinking and calculating, I will take my actual quadcore to...

    Benefit of Quadcore over Dualcore?

Hello, I'm configuring a new PC for my studio. As OS I will use Windows 7 prof. 64 Bit. Concerning the hardware, it doesn't need to be a killer machine, but it shall have enough power for fluent work with LR. At the moment I'm planning with an Intel Core2Duo E75'' 2,93GHz. This seems to be a...

Using lightroom 2 for a photobooth application

Yes, you can do do tethered shooting with LR - with a little help from other software. On Windows you need Canon EOS Utility which is packed on CD with the camera. EOS Utility is primarly a remote control software, but you can specify a download folder where all files should go. After connecting...

Lightroom is doing something wierd to my RAW photos

Yes, I mean another RAW converter, especially Canon's Digital Photo Professional which is bundled for free with the cameras. If DPP shows the same result, you should thy to copy the pics from the CF card with another card reader. In the worst case the camera itself is damaged. Try it with...
