The list of saved locations are stored in a Locations\My Locations folder inside the Lightroom settings folder. You must copy this Lightroom Settings folder on your laptop at the same place where it is on your desktop (see in Preferences tab "Presets" to detremine wher it is currently stored)...
The names are indeed different (BTW, you can't have 2 files with the same name in a folder). But maybe the second name is invalid. Try to rename it by replacing the # and the + by a _
On Windows, right click on home screen and select "Display settings". This should open the Display settings parameter window.
The field named "Color Profile" will show which profile is currently assigned to your display and you can change it if necessary.
If you do not see your profile in the...
Are you sure you did install LrC (which has an interface similar to Lr6 and do not use the cloud) and not Lr which has a totally different interface than Lr6 and uses the cloud ?
It's not more complicated than manually assigning a letter since it's exactly the same manipulation !
However, although I do it that way on my computer (because I have a lot of external volumes), since Windows users are more used to use drive letter, I usually recommend to those who asked me to...
LrC uses the Camera Raw cache defined in the preferences, tab "Performances". This has an impact on the LrC performance because it is accessed very frequently. Hence, I recommend to increase its size to a greater value (mine is set to 40 Gb), to put it on a very fast disk (a M2 is a good...
Windows is not limited to drive letter. As stevedo says, you can mount the external storage (not only the HD, but also the USB keys) in a path. This fixes the access path to the storage.
Another way to avoid the "letter changed" problem is effectively as Gnits says to assign a letter far away in...
Emptying the Trash is not a definitive solution, because it will fill again over the time.
When reaching "insufficient disk space" on the photos disk, the only real fix is to increase the photos storage, either by adding another drive or by replacing the current drive by a bigger one.
Unlike SD Cards or CF Cards, the CFExpress cards are seen by the OS (and therefore by the applications) as a disk, not as a memory card. Hence the problem with LrC.
I confirm what Hal says. The creen you bought are usually set around 200 candelas out of the box, whereas for the photo, it should be calibrated to around 100 candelas.
Did you deactivate the color management in the EPSON driver ?
Clicking on the "Print Setup" button at the bottom left of the print module, you will access to the EPSON driver setup. There, you can disable the color management.
To avoid this drag and drop in the future, there is a way to add the new keyword directly in the hierarchy when you add it to the photo.
If you enter Bird>"name of bird" (or "name of bird"<Bird), "name of bird" will be created in the "Bird" parent and added as such to the photo.
I know this...
I don't know a way to do this directly. But what you can do is :
- Create a colection with all the photo from which you want to export the keywords
- Export this collection as a catalog
- Open this new catalog
- Export the keywords from this catalog
In the text file containing the keywords will...
Note that the October023 folder contains 2 photos (that are not in subfolder). This might be intentional or not, just to be sure that you're aware of that.
What you see under the Catalog panel are in fact special collections, not folders.
The "+" sign indicates that the "Quick Collection" is currently the target collection. The target collection (which can be whatever collection you want) is the collection to which a selected photo is added when...
To be sure we are talking of the same thing when we say "Backup" :
The Lightroom Backup : it's done by LrC (if you ask it to) when you quit the application. This backup is a .zip file containing only the catalog (.lrcat file) and the masks (.lrcat-data folder). This zip file is named with the...
Are you suré you're lookin at the catalog backup created by Lightroom ?
In confirm what Johan says : the catalog backup created by Lightroom contains only the .lrcat file (the catalog itself) and the .lrdata folder which contains the calculated masks (the mask descriptions being in the catalog)
When I receive photos from other people who ask me to try ameliorate them, I copy these photos in a temporary folder, then I import them using the ADD option (so the files stay in the temp folder). After having done the edit, exported the result and send it to the owner, I delete these photos...
I just tried with the filter unlocked, the filter is still active after having clicked on th rejected flag (and of course the photo disappear from the display).
