Hi Johan,
This is the very exact and definitive reason why I stopped wondering on this subject. Seem it now make years we are discussing this but it is always nice to remember
In the Lightroom menu / Catalog preferences / Metadata, check the box to activate face detection. Let it work overnight if needed. You can press the letter "o" shortcut to get an idea of the progress and also check upper left near the Lightroom logo to see the background process' progress.
With 1200 photo/day, that would be unmanageable as you have to create one profile for each target photographed (no easy way to find the needle). The nearest you can do is to have a photo of the target for each iPhoneModel/Lighting condition. You will definitely need to have your photographers...
As a programmer myself, this is the kind of thing I was thinking about. Nice shot Hal but about the why of it... no clue either :whistling:
My guess is that it may optimize the calculations time for some adjustments in the develop module. Again, just a guess.
Note that by using the XMP method your editing history will not be kept. This is why the Catalog Import/Export is prefered most of the time when the question is to continue work on another machine.
Scott, keep it simple. Old Lion system? Old Lightroom 5? No problem! Do it the old way :)
For a presentation and for a Camera Adapter (the Lightning to USB cable you have is called such) JPG would be just fine. So, Export from Lightroom to JPG on a USB memory stick (key). Then plug the key to...
Welcome to Lightroom Forums Claudel. But this intrigues me: why didn't you upgrade to at least Lightroom 3.6 (latest of version 3). Note that there are big new additions to teach from newer versions as Maps/Geotagging, Video Basic Editing and Export, Soft Proofing and more...
Is there a little black dot in the centre of this small tellow box? If so, this just mean that it is the result of your search. White circle only appear whan you select (or create) a saved location. Do we still miss something?
If this may help, even if my 1:1 Previews are set to be removed after 30 days, "quick scrub views" are still fast on very old videos.
Bottleneck on his system? Although, he is running Catalina (but how fast?).
Thanks for the hint Cletus but I have such a shared printer on same LAN and it is not accessible. Either wired with an RJ-45 LAN cable or with a USB cable. Maybe because there are no antennas whatsoever on than printer. Only my wife's little portable printer works over LAN. Do I. miss something?
I may be late to the party but... Even if there is no dedicated menu option, to print from iOS or iPadOS I simply use the share icon (square with up arrow) then choose print, select printer etc. It more like printing from any other app. The drawback is that you need an AirPrint enabled printer...
Top left of Lightroom near the Lightroom logo use down arrow and pause synchronisation. Also, in Menu/Lightroom/Preferences/Lightroom Synchronisation, you have the option to remove already synchronized images.
For Lightroom on mobile, the option to print can be found under the share icon and...
Sorry for the misleading. I am afraid Paul is right
As I am always working Full Screen I didn't notice the bug. I now see that I am also jammed as Vinsolo...
Welcome to Lightroom Forums,
Each catalog have its own set of independent previews. The naming scheme for the previews will always follow the catalog's name. The video's thumbnail can not be played as the full video as it is only the thumbnail of the image you selected from the video to be the...
By making your pointer touch the top border of the screen you should be able to see the red, gray and green dots under the Apple logo top left of the screen. select the green one with the two arrows pointing diagonally one toward the other...
I fact, the bottom option is to Select your metadata preset. You create it in the right column under the "Apply While Importing" section. Sorry for the confusion.
