Thanks Clee and Jim; great to know you are still able to pass on your extensive LR knowledge.
Very true Clee; it is an old program but still does what I need for organizing and first edits of my happy snaps -- this problem is more of an annoyance than anything . Likely started over 12 months...
No one has any ideas ??
And a day later another week behind . All worked well (few hours) until Lr started playing games again with no rhyme or reason .
Looking like put up with it or remove Lr and reinstall sometime when I'm in a good mood because of the so much that can go wrong . The real...
Hello, long time since I needed your help and I'm too far behind to offer you much help
Win10 PC /Lr5
Sorry; I hate trying to explain such problems.
In the recent past I could open a tiff / jpeg into Affinity from Lr >save but not close with Ap adjustments >change colour label to purple in Lr...
One hierarchy with a long list of keywords and around 2.8 k of images disappeared --- NO WAY would I have done anything apart from maybe :whistling: deleting it by mistake
I could use the second last backup and redo the work done sorting out LOTS of files/folders/keywords in the last 12...
Victoria; if I knew what I did ; I could likely fix it :whistling: . PS -- sorry; should have stopped here!
This might give others a few ideas of what and what not to do.
I had let Lr stuff get a bit (big bit) out of hand so am spending a lot of time sorting it out, even if I am not...
Yep; I broke it again . With a new PC I thought it a good time to sort out /reduce the keywords and while it has been going well I have a problem now of missing one repaired/sorted Hierarchy + keywords --- don't ask how as I have no idea ; naturally it has to be adobe's fault :sneaky: ...
Many thanks Victoria and Paul for your thoughts; however I'm feeling rather smug (and relieved) atm as Lr5 is :whistling: happily on the new PC ; :sneaky: found a previous download from 2013 that I had completely forgotten all about
Certainly was not looking forward to a life without Lightroom...
Where and how can I get Lr5 disc 2; or download Lr5? I have disc one and the Lr4 + Lr5 numbers needed.
Is it possible to move Lr5 from old laptop to shiny new Pc
Do you have a link to abode ? They make it soooo complicated and confusing !
Your help will be greatly appreciated -- if you are in...
Thanks for explaining . Seems a case of put up with it or go elsewhere . Not too much to match Lr on the market so i guess I will put up with it.
I'm am slowly getting a better photo filing system sorted for post Lr days .
After a massive stuff up by the computer fixer [and me] I have bigger...
No --- I think what I'm doing is >dng >tiff>affinity>save back to Lr
Started this about 6 hours ago before trying find a "pattern" --- loaded and closed a lot of different files and Lr didn't change to custom sorting . That is until I wasn't looking or thinking about it and all of a sudden it...
G'day; it's been awhile so my old faithful Lr5 must be behaving. So glad I had it and didn't think I needed Lr6 or beyond
I usually set 'sort' to File name mostly, however Lr is switching to custom order or added order -- usually happens when I send a file to an external editor like Affinity...
G'day; it's been awhile . I was getting a bit left behind with my old faithful lr5 which basically does what I need.
But the question is; has there been any mention / thought that Adobe would have a lightroom only subscription as some stage . I don't need Ps or the Cloud part. Not even sure I...
G'day; long time no chat! I'm still snapping away at mostly unimportant subjects for something to do --- still using Lr5 mostly; On1'18 (sometimes :() and Affinity :) has replaced Elements 12. Not sure where to post this old -- antique:) -- Lr5 stuff so you are welcome to move or remove...
Something I have heard on the web (so its true LOL)
be carefully downloading the DXO trial version if you already have Nik on your computer as you may well lose your Nik program until you pay the $49 (Au$64).
More than happy to be corrected if that is not right :)
Bit hard to add new features...
nothing is perfect; but I do like the EVF; they have greatly improved and there is something about seeing the subject very much like it will be recorded. The bonus is having a live histogram in the viewfinder and being able to quickly adjust the exposure if need be. No need to check the...
this first reply to the thread is about how I see your issue also
And; I don't (really) use collections even if I have a few for reasons I have forgotten
would certainly make it so much easier and sensible Tony to have just one RAW file like DNG. I believe that is why dng was introduced in the first place -- correct me if I'm wrong as you have a greater understand of such matters
Whoops!!! I typed that yesterday :whistling:
I need another sticky...
For me, DNG are still viable, and needed as my newer camera files (lumix FZ300) cannot be read by my older Lr5. Bit of pain having to run the files through Adobe DNG converter but it doesn't take much time. I leave the converter set to convert raw files in a "New raw files" folder and send the...
Thank you for those kind words -- no point making digital photography harder than it already is imo
Yeah; the hair colour was a bit of a giveaway :p
The important thing is you asked the questions; too many don't!
A few general comments
Don't get bogged down in techo stuff. ...
