Bulk changing capture times of Images in Lightroom
The situation in this video is to change a folder of images by about 30 seconds to correct for a discrepancy between two cameras.
However the method is exactly the same for changing the Year of a group of photos. eg. you would...
A couple of comments-
When did you 'Save' them to the external drive? Was it after importing to Lightroom-Classic?
The Question mark on folders indicates that LrC no longer knows where the folders and photos are stored. Same for an exclamation mark on photos- they are marked as 'missing' in the...
If you are referring to the 'visibility eye' on the top of the Masking panel, then-
In my experience- the second monitor screen does not change appearance. Only the primary screen indicates, or not, the effect of the mask adjustments by toggling the 'eye' icon.
Some added comments-
An upgrade for the Legacy Lightroom Versions 5 or 6 is now called Lightroom-Classic.
It is only Lightroom-Classic that will upgrade your existing catalog (of locally stored files).
Lightroom (Cloud based) is a different app COMPARE LIGHTROOM & LIGHTROOM-CLASSIC FEATURES...
Don't use the Photos App.!
Let Lightroom automatically sync the images from Lightroom in your phone to Lightroom AND Lightroom-Classic in your iMac (via the Lightroom Cloud.). And no importing to the iMac is necessary!
See here for details- SYNC SETUP IN CLASSIC
The Photos App (like other Apple...
Yes, Only IF you are confident that these folders have copied to the external drive #7 successfully, AND you also have backups of the files on another drive (Mandatory).
A screen-shot would help but- This just sounds like you have your Catalog on the desktop which is possible. {Desktop} is just another folder in your Mac system.
I suggest you select the Catalog (.LRCAT file) and all the associated files (prefix similarly named) on the desktop and combine into...
Sorry I have been away and taken so long to return to this thread. Maybe you have resolved your problem by now.
Always re-run the [Find Missing Photos] command (frequently if needed) as it does not automatically update the list after you have re-linked folders and files.
As to your last...
Yes.
That is what "Update Folder Location" does- it allows you to simply change Lightroom's known 'path' to the files in their new (copied) location.
BUT You MUST have Drive #7 Connected.!!!
In your screen-clip you do not have Drive#7 connected! (No green light,) Plug it in, connect it before...
Correct.
If you 'open' and old version catalog (from v6,9,10,11,12) in LrC v13 then you will be asked to upgrade the catalog.
As stated by @Johan Elzenga - If it 'opens' in LrC v13 then it IS a Version 13 catalog (regardless of the Catalog filename.)
Yes, effectively the internal drive files will be 'Missing' and you re-link to the files on Drive #7.
But I suggest you re-link to the new #7 location BEFORE you do any deleting on the internal drive!

Extract JPGs from Previews Plugin
Or here-

Adobe also publish a script to extract JPGs...
There is no print module in Lightroom-desktop (as there is in Lr-Classic).
So to print an image you need to [Export] the image and use other software.
A Mac user might have suggestions for the best app to print. (Photoshop, if you have it?)
My room lighting is directly overhead the monitor in an otherwise dark room.
I purchased a sheet of black foamcore from the local art shop- cut and shaped to suit the monitor- all good.
If you want all "Local"- Use Lightroom-Classic!
I don't understand why it is- "either difficult (for me) and or nearly impossible" if you have LrC in your Photography Plan.
LrC is always 'Local' and you have full control over "Storage", etc.
COMPARE LIGHTROOM & LIGHTROOM-CLASSIC FEATURES
My setup is this, and I am happy with this- I use a Logitech mouse G602 (Wireless) and have programmed the buttons for common keyboard shortcuts-
This I use for 90% of my work.
I also have a Loupedeck+. Ideal for large and fast batch (multiple image) edits. It is so easy to turn a dial (eg...
So first clarify something- your first post says " lightroom classic 3.1"
So which exact version of Lightroom do you have?
Copy & Paste the visible report you get from MENU > Help > System Info...
If your version supports 'Customize' then you [RIGHT-CLICK] on one of the panel headers for the...
I never see a shortcut icon on my desktop for Lightroom-Classic ! Certainly not there by installing LrC.
I have always needed to find Lightroom.exe and manually create a shortcut for the desktop, ie, if I want one on the desktop.
However the Start menu serves my purposes, or I 'Pin to Taskbar'...
Re-importing images is always the wrong thing to do when you have 'missing' files.
If you re-import photos they appear in the catalog without keywords or any editing history.
You have a mess that will require time to sort out, but you must first re-link those 'missing' files if you want to...
Another comment- I note that you have both Original and Virtual Copy 'Syncing' to the Cloud- Why?
So you will also be seeing two versions of each image in the Lightroom-Cloud. (Lr-mobile, Lr-Web, Lr-Desktop)
What are trying to achieve by a Drag-and-Drop? Re-locating the images?
You should be able to drag the {20220320_New-York-CITY} FOLDER 'up' into the top {2022} folder, within the LrC folder panel (NOT in File Explorer)
Importing your images into the catalog is best done via the usual Import...
I am still trying to reconcile your two screen-clips:
1) The Folder panel in LrC showing all the Year folders 2016, 2017, ... 2022, etc, in {Pictures}-
and
2) The Finder view showing only the one 2022 year folder in {Pictures}-
Why don't I see all the Year folders here? (unless you have a...
To find photos with similar visual content you would need a Plugin such as 'Any Vision' by @johnrellis
