I'm using LR Classic (latest 9.0) on Windows 10. Both LR and Windows are fully up to date with the latest versions.
When I launch LR, more often than not the desktop application is "always on top". This is not a new problem in 9.0, certainly this occurred before I upgraded to version 9.0.
This...
I was on a shoot today. In front of client I pull up Lightroom CC Classic.
Asks me to sign in.
I don't have my password safe with me. I don't keep this password in my brain, I keep it in a password safe. Because it's highly secure, and extremely long. The reason is past security breaches from...
This never used to happen, perhaps it's new in a later version, or my settings changed?
I edit in Photoshop, hit save, then sometimes I do some additional post production in LR with the file still opened in PS.
If I want to make another change in PS then save, I want the .tif file to update...
Thanks for the comments all, my responses below.
@Ferguson I think you hit the nail on the head. I'm impatient. Actually, I think I'm of average patience, but I constantly meet people who seem more so. Thanks for the tip about Photo Mechanic for culling. I don't really like to cull, because...
I seem to spend my life going through client photos. Sometimes it feels like I spend more time reviewing images than I do editing them.
I shoot in RAW on Canon 5D III, resulting in 26MB per photo. The slowest part of my workflow is reviewing images.
I have a Dell Optiplex with 16GB RAM and...
(Cross-posted as a response to someone else's thread in Adobe LR Community)
I use LR daily as part of my work as a professional photographer and this update has me pretty worried, given it's obviously a problem that Adobe testers have not had themselves. Actually I *love* the implementation of...
After years of running my archive catalog (i.e. client work generally over 6 months old) over iSCSI from a NAS, I decided to move to replicated external USB disks for my archive.
After a Windows refresh and reinstall of LR 5.3 (64 bit) for Win 8.1, my archive catalog file is now corrupt and not...

I installed the feeldriver but after a reboot, clicking on "Pen Tablet Properties" I'm getting a message saying "a supported tablet was not found on the system".
Strange, because I also downloaded the Wacom hardware detection prog which said a supported device *was* found...
Did you get...
Hello John
I'm very familiar with WP. I checked the "Lightroom etc" page on your website but couldn't see anything to get me started.
Very interested to hear more!
Dear all
I have been using the excellent Client Response Gallery from TTG to present my clients' work for them to select images for editing, and send me the image numbers.
Combined with TTG's Publisher module, this would seem to be a great idea for simplifying my workflow; in reality...
Thanks Victoria, splat-delete didn't work, but splat-backspace does!
Just to confirm, the above works when in develop module whilst in a collection. No way to undo. Who knows if it goes to recycle bin or not! (Windows / LR5)
(Discovered this after a small russian roulette game of "how to...
Hi - my apologies for being unclear:
- My profile is wrong, I'm currently using LR5! Must update...
- Jim is right, it's from within the develop module whilst working in a collection.
Rather frustrating. Often edit in Photoshop, mess-up an edit, start from scratch, and want to delete the TIF...
A mini-frustration I have on a daily basis.
Is there a keyboard shortcut - or in fact *any* way possible - to delete a photo from disk without having to come out of develop module?
I'm running Lightroom 5.2 with Camera Raw 8.2 on a Microsoft Surface Pro 2 (8GB RAM, 4th gen Intel core i5).
When I drag a slider in develop module, for the duration of the drag operation the image goes blurry.
A quick Google yielded a user who had the same issue, and sure enough this is only...
If you select 30 images in LR, right click (Windows), Edit In > Edit in Adobe Photoshop, the result is that your 30 originals are duplicated but only one is opened in the external application.
I have some other external applications which open one window per file (as opposed to the tabbed...
I currently use the Export To Zip function for handing images over to clients e.g.
jenny-headshots.zip
- IMG_1234.jpg
- IMG_2345.jpg
- IMG_3456.jpg
Is there a way I can export multiple sized versions to zip, e.g.
jenny-headshots.zip
/high-res
- IMG_1234.jpg
- IMG_2345.jpg
-...
This post is for anyone who wishes to run their Lightroom Catalog (image files AND database) from over a network.
It's possible, and if you get the right gear (not expensive) it's almost as fast as running it directly from your local hard drive(s).
There comes a point in every photographer's...
Hello
My workflow involves editing images in external applications (not just PS, but others as well). However since upgrading to LR4, I have noticed that images edited in external applications then saved do not get updated in LR.
Is there a way I can force refresh of the image? I know my edits...
Great. Thanks for the info. I thought I could run catalogs (*slooowly*) from a remote location, but I guess not.
May be time to invest in some RAID esata storage solution!
I'm assuming no, but are Lightroom 4 catalogs backwards compatible with Lightroom 3?
i.e. can I import catalogs which were updated to current process in LR4, into my master LR catalog on my server, which runs Lightroom 3?
If not, can anyone think of a way around this? I guess I could host the...
On the contrary it seems pretty strange to want to rename a photo when you are in the develop module.
Develop module = for developing photos (changing how they look)
Library module = for dealing with metadata (categorising, tagging, grouping images etc.)
Sorry for the ridiculously sycophantic post title, but my first 10 minutes with LR4 has been the most exciting time ever.
What can I say, Adobe RAW 7 is absolutely incredible, I cannot BELIEVE the power of RAW image processing now. Marked improvement in all of my images. So many more useable...
