The attached photo is a raw scan of a page from 1970s word processing: paste together corrected paragraphs with mucilage glue. After 30-40 years the glue has turned brown.

How can I correct his in Lightroom? I'd like to minimize the browning due to the glue while retaining the quality of the typewritten text.

Since this is a raw scan in color, I can do almost anything to filter out the browning. But, my attempts haven't proven very successful.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

This is not something to do in Lightroom. You have a lot more options in Photoshop. Here's a very quick attempt to show you what Photoshop can do. Of course this can be improved a lot if you're willing to spend more than the two minutes I did.

Thanks, Johan.

I don't use Photoshop. Most of my manipulations are pretty straightforward and organizational. I do have Photoshop Elements. Can I use that?

If so, any clues?

Thanks,
Dave

Lightroom can make some adjustments with the tone sliders after doing a -100 Saturation adjustment-

If I thought the words in the document were more important than the image, I would use a program that uses Optical Character recognition and convert the words to a text document- (Might need lots of corrections)

You could use Photoshop Elements-
Try
1. De-saturate the image
2. Use Levels or Curves to isolate the Black letters on a white background. The problem areas will be the darker 'gluey' areas.

I found a solution how to do this in Lightroom using the Adjustment Brush in Auto Mask mode. Works great.

Thanks for all the suggestions.
