This has been niggling me since I moved from my perpetual licence version of Light Room. When I look in the Auto Play entries I can see all of the perpetual licensed versions of LR (3 through to 5)that are still on my PC plus the drop down option shown in the attached image.
Is it possible to set/Add LRCC to the auto play options, if so how? AutoPlaySnip.JPG

Lightroom already is the default for Photos.

You could also replace DropBox with it as the default for videos.

It is possible that "Import Photos" using "Adobe Lightroom" is pointing to an older version of LR still on your computer. If that is the case, then you can click on that dropdownlist box and change it to the latest LR exe.

Hi Cletus
Thanks for the response, I think I may be missing the obvious here! But whilst I have Lightroom set as the default I don't seem to be able to check where "Import Photos" using "Adobe Lightroom" is actually pointing. I cant seem to invoke the ability to check the actual .exe file that the drop down option is using.
When I insert a card with new images in to my card reader Lightroom doesn't open but Im sure it did prior to using LRCC. I have to open LRCC and use the Import option in the Library module.

Where "Import Photos" using "Adobe Lightroom" is actually pointing is not clear but you can click on that dropdown an check "Other" and navigate to the exe that you know is correct. Then you CAN be certain where it is pointing because YOU set it.
After that, you can open LR preferences and verify that the checkbox labeled "Show Import Dialog when Memory Card is detected" is checked. From that point forward, you are at the mercy of the interaction between Windows and LR. When I was a windows user, I found about half of the time that if LR was not running, Windows would open LR but LR would not invoke the Import dialog. If LR was already running, inserting a card would invoke the Import dialog.

Thanks Cletus for your response I've given up on this !
I'm unable to check where the "Open with Adobe Lightroom" is pointing and I cannot remove or add any options in the drop down menu. Having search the Internet it seem to be a Windows issue. One source of information I found suggested that two Win PC with the same software may have different options loaded in the drop down menus.
Short of drilling down and editing the registry I doubt I can get the auto start of LR to work. Shame really but as and old colleague of mine used to say " Life's a beach and then you die"
