Slideshow Captions

Trying to put individual captions in Slideshow and have done this before using metadata. However, problem currently is the ABC dialogue box is not visible. Anyone know why this is not visible and how to rectify?

Using Lightroom 6 standalone on a Macbook Pro-Mavericks.

Is the toolbar visible at all? If not, make it visible by typing T. Then, if 'ABC' is still not visible, click on the small arrow in the right corner of the toolbar.
