I own Lightroom 4 but have delayed installing on my MacBookAir. Now 5 is available but I hate to spend more money. Am I wasting my time to try to use Lightroom 4??

Welcome to the forum. I would not say that you are wasting your time. LR4 is a good product and the difference between it and LR5 only show up in the new features found in LR5. If you can use or need any of those new develop features, then you might benefit from upgrading. Otherwise you can happily wait for LR6.

I thought that LR 5 was a worthwhile improvement over LR4....especially LR5.2. The free trials are always....free to try.
