When I try to move a folder from one location to another I get a message the the folder already exists there. However the folder name is not visible at that location.
I am guessing that it exists in the catalog but why does it not display? This just happens in one master folder. I can move...
I just received the following message after importing a file I edited in Elements.
"One or more of these photos has been changed in an external application. Should Lightroom overwrite the settings on disk?"
I have no clue what this means. Does anyone know what settings are they referring to.
Since I discovered my tags and captions missing one time I assume that means they were not in the catalog. Wouldn't I be better off if I "saved to file" so I could restore from file. Is there any downside to saving to file?
What do you mean by metadata in the original, is that the data stored...
On a few occasions I have found that Keyword tags I have added to pictures have disappeared. I was told I needed to execute the command "Save Metadata to files".
Question 1: Is there a way to select all files in catalog and then execute that command?
Question 2: If I do not save it to files...
I just imported a file to PSE with date 9/1/1978 12:0:0 AM in lightroom. I changed the date in PSE to 9/1978. Lightroom has an option of ? for the day of month. I removed file from lightroom catalog and imported it again. The date displayed in Lightroom is 3/27/10.
I tried to attach it to...
I am using Lightroom version 3.6.
Lightroom can store date/time original and date/time digitized, also the metadata includes something called just date/time and another Date Created.
Many of my photos are scanned from old pictures and slides. Lightroom does not allow you to change the...
Selecting all images in a folder is easy, but I have many folders and I want to save all metadata to files. Doing this one folder at a time is taking forever.
Is there a way to insert the same label into several images at once. When I select multiple images and enter a label, the label only goes into the first image.
Titles and captions
I see the command "Save Metadata to File" under the Metadata Tab, but this just applies to the one image selected. Is there anyway to have Metadata saved to file for all images in the catalog. I have several thousand images and it would take a long tome to save all...
I just had to restre some images from Mozy backup and the titles and captions are gone. Are these stored in the catalog? Is there anyway to get that info back without going back to an old catalog?
The funny thing is that the change happened while I was working in LR and elements. One group of pictures worked (dates in both aps the same) and then the next group did not (different dates between aps..
Still no one has responded to the main problem as to why the date/ time in LR is not the one displayed in Elements. Before last week they were the same. Something got changed in one of these programs and I'd like to know what.
LR apparently is structured to meet the needs of professional photographers and unfortunately ignores the needs of amateurs who are scanning in old family photos.
When scanning photos sometimes you only know the year, sometimes the month and year, sometimes the day but rarely the time. In LR...
Can someone tell me how to reset or change the destination of images input from disk? I want to keep the original folder and not create a new folder by date.
