Hi Curtis, I recommend to check your monitor profile in your Windows settings. I had a "strange" default profile for my screen in the beginning, so all white in LR was yellowish.
Hi an welcome to the forums.
Did you create a new catalog or update a previous one? If the latter try to create a new one just to ensure its not a corrupt catalog.
If I understand you correctly the VCs probably got lost during the catalog update from 3 to 4.1?
Did you double check whether the VCs still exist in LR 3?
Same as Robert and Chris.
And please keep in mind that you and your wife cannot access the same catalog at the same time - just in case you're considering this.
Hi folks,
as already mentioned in another post, I've recently created a tool to backup files from lightroom catalogs. I had this requirement myself a while ago: I create an (internal) backup of all files when importing but wanted a second (external) backup of all "relevant" files (everything...
I recently wrote my own (Windosw) program doing almost what you're looking for: I queries your lightroom catalog and copies all (original) files to a backup destination. The images to copy can be limited by their rating (stars).
Its almost ready to be released (at least in a beta state, but it...
I just build a new computer running Win 7 and LR 4.1 what seems to run quite nice and smooth.
These are my components (at least the most important ones):
CPU: AMD FX-8120 Eight-Core "Zambezi" (8 x 3,10 GHz)
Mainboard: ASRock 970 Extreme4, 970
RAM: 8 GB (2 x 4 GB) DDR3
System hard drive...
I myself always convert my original RAWs (cr2) to DNG and throw the cr2 away. I never had any problems with that in the past 5 years since I startet with that.
Of course thats just me... ;)
Umm... So you still HAVE the images anywere. So you can simply copy them back to the "old" location LR is still thinking the images should be and ... fine. LR will find them once again and everybody lived happily ever after... ;)
Sorry Safariholic, "HDD" is simply a hard drive, whether external or internal. (HDD is the abbreviation for "Hard Disc Drive").
Any way, as Hal wrote: Lightroom can't find your files anymore and therefore can't export them. Try the Windows search (Windows key + F or using Windows Explorer) and...
I wonder, if the installer logs any error messages. The Windows installer normally does (at least if to tell it to), but I have no clue whether Mac installers to also...
Probably these installer errors could lead us to the real problem.
Hi Sefariholic,
Have a look over here: http://www.lightroomqueen.com/community/showthread.php?14018-How-to-take-a-quot-screenshot-quot-on-Windows-or-Mac-computers
Might it be possible, that LR simply doesn't find the fotos on your HDD? (Did they probably have been moved or an external HDD is...
Salut Viarmois,
I just had a similar decision to make and made it pro LR 4.1 with Win 7 x64 mainly due to the 32 bit restriction of XP. 2 GB max for LR 4.1 might be a bit short, I guess.

.
(I know, there is a 64 bit version of XP pro, but I tried that once... and stepped back to 32 bit XP. ;) )
Hi Wendy,
OK, I wasn't sure at this point. I don't think you need to try it a third time.
Mmh... from my side I don't any better idea than trying to reinstall LR. Probably anyone else does...
Oh, dammit. I mixed up the threads. You were talking about this guy with the HDD crash, but this was the other tab.
Sorry, guys!
Yes, I'm totally with you by letting LR do the organization and use collections and tags.
I myself have a few very generic folders to sort the files in the file...
