My hard drive crashed over a month ago, and after an extensive firmware data recovery I just got all of my photos back. The problem is that when I opened the folder I needed it was the original images without the edits I had spent 2 months on prior to the hard drive crash. I am assuming that the edits are saved in a separate folder, but have had no luck finding them.

I have a new hard drive, and re-loaded Lightroom 2. I am assuming that my edits might be saved in lightroom files from my old hard drive, but have had no luck with any of the ones I opened or imported. Can anyone help me with where to find my edits?

Well, you are in a pickle aren't you!!Welcome and hopefully we can help.First thing to do is back up all your files to a second drive to avert this happening again!!Did you have everything on one drive? Catalogs and images........You need to search for files with .lrcat.Let us know what you find.

If your originals are RAW files did you save the edits to xmp sidecare files. If yes then you should search for those as well.

If a catalog is found, that will have all the edits anyway but worth a look!!

Good luck, and BACKUP - BACKUP - BACKUP! On an external drive, daily, automatically. This will let sleep you much better.

Just summarizing the above. Search for files of type *.lrcat (that's an 'L', LRCAT) and files of type *.XMP. Let us know what you find.
