Hi guys,

my name is Tom and I live in Chemnitz, Germany.
Greetings from Europe. ;-)

I used LR4 and bought LR5, because I hoped, it could solve my problem with the Web-Module. But I didn't find a solution with LR5, yet.
Maybe you can help me.
I have a 2012 MacBookPro Retina 15 inch. LR looks awesome. I think, there are a lot of other Retina users, and so I optimized my website (www.mx-3-tom.de) for Retina displays.
All pictures have 4th the resolution (e.g. picture: 1200x600px, presentation of website: 600x300px).
Otherways, the images where not displayed sharp.

I'm using the LR web module to generate HTML galleries. And this is the problem.
I can not generate galleries for Retina displays. :(
I will show the pictures in 800px (long edge), so LR has to export the pictures in 1600px (long edge).
But it doesn't. LR exports in 800px (long edge).

My idea was to change the exported images. I changed there resolution to 1600px (long edge). But now, my gallery doesn't look fine any more. The images where shown in 1600px. :(

Do you have any idea to solve this problem?

I hope, you could help me.

Greetings, Tom

I'm confused on setting print resolution in the Print Module, especially after reading a host of web postings on what is 'best'. Some say 300 dpi, others 600 dpi when using a Canon printer, and still others say it depends and you just have to experiment. I print using a Canon Pro100 printer, so my take on this is that 300 dpi is the best I can get. Is there any real benefit to setting the resolution higher to 600 dpi?

I'd appreciate hearing your advice and wisdom on this matter. Thank you.

Lightroom 4.4
Mac 10.8.x
Epson 9890
roll paper

I have had this same problem with my Epson 9800. I just purchase a new Epson 9890 and still have the same hight in-consists.
The hight comes out to long. The hight is always at least 1/4 in off.

All settings in print Module all appear to be correct. Example 26x34 it may print 26.3 x 34.75 could be 26 x34.5 not consistent. It is almost always the hight that is of the most. This has been on going for months.

I use lexjet canvas with wide gap, but problem is the same with paper or other brands of canvas.

I have the paper setting set to roll.... have tried auto-expand on and off (no difference)
the paper is set for Epson 9890

I have searche web there are others with same problem but I have found no solutions so for. going
Any suggestions?

I have a number of situations in which I work with image files that contain transparency. My workflow is as follows: 1) import raw file into LR and develop as desired. 2) export via a PSD file, checking the "add to catalog" option and "Continue Editing in Photoshop Elements." 3) use PSE to add transparency and save file. Everything works great up to this point. I then export the image as a TIFF file for use in a downstream application. And this is my problem, because it appears that LR's TIFF exporter fails to maintain the transparency of the PSD file. Is there someway to make this work with a TIFF file? Is there some way to use a PNG file instead? Any other possibilities?

Can anyone please direct me to full and comprehensive guidance on adding borders to images? I don’t print anything myself - I just want to export jpegs for use with an external print service.

Frankly the whole thing baffles me! I can’t tell what I’m even looking at when I open an image in the Print module – it appears within an A4 grid (the paper size my own default printer uses, though I don’t intend to use it), and there’s no detailed guidance on what to do next to achieve what I want (the only guidance I can find from Adobe itself is so brief it's useless). For example, at the moment I want to create a white bordered image for an eventual 8x12 print, which will be exported as a JPEG and sent to an external service (that cannot add borders to larger prints, even for additional money). There must be a simple way to add borders!

I use LR4.3 and don’t have Photoshop unfortunately.

Many thanks for any help with this.

Hi

For my first post in the forum I've got a query that's driving me crazy, but is probably fairly obvious to others (I hope!).

I've been experimenting with creating diptychs and triptychs in the Print Module and then exporting to JPEG. All is well, except I can't find a way to cut the unwanted white space at the top and bottom of the output before "printing". I end up having to re-import the jpeg and then crop it.

I think it's something to do with my page setup being set to A4. What I'd really like is to have the top and bottom white space set to the same as the horizontal cell spacing.

Not sure I've explained myself very clearly, but hope someone can offer me some pointers.

Cheers

Rob
