Frequently, when working on a series of very similar images, it would be very useful to use the local adjustment brush on first image in the series, and then copy/paste or sync the local adjustment with subsequent images. The problem is that the subsequent images, although nearly identical, are frame-shifted and the mask overlay does not line-up correctly. For example, if the local adjustment brush is used to edit the eyes of an individual, the framing of subsequent images may vary slightly such the mask overly created for the first image in the series no longer aligns with the eyes in subsequent images. If it were possible to simply move the mask overly without having to recreate the mask for every image it would be a great time saver. Is this possible??

Hello,

I have been using Adobe lightroom 3 on 2 computers for over a year now and never had any issues. It is still working fine on one of my Mac's but if I try to open a catalogue on the other Mac the welcome screen pops up every time and it will sometimes only open the default catalogue not the one I wanted to open. I tried to uninstall and reinstall it by dragging the lightroom application into the trash can then reinstalling with the disc again but this has not worked. I'm not sure if I did this process correctly because it did not ask for a serial number this time round ?
Can anybody help me ?

Hi guys, I’m new to this forum, but I hope you have some suggestions to help me out with my problem.

Lightroom is crashing when I’m exporting referenced files from my thunderbolt external drive to my desktop. The screen goes into black for 5 seconds, then I get a grey screen telling me in several languages that the computer needs to reboot due to “a problem”. By pressing any key, the computer restarts and I’m back in business. Even when only exporting like 20 files at a time, fail and collapse. This problem only appeared today, I have exported thousands of files since I got my mac in February and never experienced any issues at all until just now.

I have a brand new iMac 27” received in February with the newest updated OS, 2.9GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 and a 3TB fusion drive. 32 GB RAM. No other programs are open when this happens.

I have browsed through this forum and found people to have similar difficulties, but it seemed to be related to dust and fan problems. I have hard time believing that is my case. Could it be that my CPU is overheating?

I’ll be grateful for all kinds of feedback.

Cheers.

Hi all,

I am trying to use Jeffrey's Flickr export plugin. Since Flickr disallows .CR2 files, I am trying to just filter my Smart Collection to only feed .JPGs to the export plugin, but I am completely failing at it. I have run into two situations:

- on one of my folders, applying a filter that is called "File Type != RAW" or "Filename ends in JPG" results in the collection containing 50% *more* images than my original set (it triplicates all images for some reason: in a set of three, one will always be "missing", one is the original JPG, and one is a JPG with no metadata).
- on another of my folders, it seems to ignore the CR2+JPEG+XMP sidecars: I thought I could do the same filter as above and ONLY select the JPEG side of the trio, but that does not work: if I apply this filter, it selects only files that are pure JPEGs (i.e. no CR2 master).

What am I doing wrong, and is there a more correct way of doing this?

Thanks!

Hi All,

OK, so, I came back from shooting for a couple of weeks and put the files on my home computer, edited them (i.e. deleted bad shots), organized, and renamed them.

Then I copied them and put an exact set on my work computer. Now, if I do some work on them at home, can I copy and paste (replace) the .xmp files onto my work computer? Will the metadata allow Lightroom to show me all the work I did at home?

This to me seems easier then working with different catalogs, etc., the date of the .xmp file will tell you which is the latest. No confusion, simple. Easy.

What does anyone out there think?

Thanks,
